BOX SCORE LONGVIEW, Texas - The Concordia Texas volleyball team dropped a close, four-set matchup at LeTourneau.
Selena Cooper (35 assists, 14 digs) and
Kinsy Haschke (25 digs, 14 kills) posted double-doubles inside Solheim Arena on Friday night.
All four sets were decided by no more than three points as every game was tightly contested.
CTX trailed 12-11 before a kill by
Rayna Pack (13 digs, five kills) sparked an 8-3 burst in the first set. The Yellowjackets came back to tie the game at 24-all, but Pack and
Savannah Kari 13 kills, eight digs) fired back-to-back kills to secure a set one victory.
With game two tied 5-5, LETU utilized a 5-0 run to take control. A kill by Haschke closed the deficit to 18-17, but LETU would even the series with a 25-22 win.
Both teams traded runs for the majority of game three to result in a 24-24 tie near the end of the set, but LeTourneau would escape with two straight points to take a 2-1 advantage.
The Tornados held a 9-4 lead early in the fourth set, but the Yellowjackets would take a 16-14 lead which was highlighted by a 7-2 flurry. The game would once again be tied 24-24 late into the set, and LeTourneau claimed the final two points for the match win.
The Tornados will immediately be back in action as they travel to Richardson, Texas to play UT-Dallas tomorrow at noon.
