MARSHALL, Texas - Concordia Texas cross country sophomore runner
Kamron Loera blazed a time of 25:58.9 to break the previous school record (held by
Rick Platas) by an astonishing 43 seconds at the ASC Cross Country Championships. Loera placed fourth overall for All-ASC First Team honors while
Thomas Hughes (27:07.6) also set a new personal record to place 13th and earn an All-ASC Second Team selection. Overall, the men's team earned their highest finish at the ASC Championships by placing fourth at the Marshall City Arena.
Five Tornados impressed with new personal records as
Lawson Meiers (28:25.23) and
Aaron Ramos (30:26.3) reached personal bests for the men.
Faith Bueno was the lone representative for the women's team at the meet, and she obliterated her former personal-best time. She ran 52 seconds faster than she did at the same course just a week ago wih a time of 28:22.3 in the 6k for 44th-place.
Jacob Ismir cracked the top-25 with a season-best time of 28:08, and
Samuel Valdez also posted a time under 30 minutes at 29:51.4 to place 57th.
Daniel Bizima rounded out the CTX competitors with a time of 30:26.5 to finish in 67th.
