FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The Concordia Texas men's tennis team wrapped up their road trip with a match against Pacific, falling 8-1 on Monday.
Andres Padilla picked up the lone win at line five singles, taking down PU's Garret Katayama 6-2, 6-4. Padilla improved his singles record to a stellar 4-1 on the spring.
In doubles play,
Nico De La Pena and
Joshua Bode won three games but could not come away with the match, taking an 8-3 loss.
At line one singles, Bode battled in the second set, but ultimately fell 6-0, 6-3.
Evan Pena Jr. kept it close in the first set with a score of 6-3, but ultimately fell in straight sets at line three.
Jorge Garcia won three games in the final set, but was unable to take the match, falling 6-1, 6-3 at line four.
After three matches in the last two days, Concordia Texas will take a brief break before returning to the court on March 26. The Tornados will begin American Southwest Conference play, traveling to Abilene, Texas for a match at McMurry at 10 a.m.
