AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's tennis returned to the court, blanking Goucher in a dominant 9-0 win on Wednesday.
In their first match in nine days, the Tornados did not miss a beat, sweeping every match in the contest.
Isabella Wiik and
Kaitlin Stevens began doubles play with a victory at line one, besting the Goucher duo 8-3.
The next two doubles match were won in a sweep, as
Kayla Pena and
Natalia Goodman teamed up at line two and
Claire Austin and
Trinity Klamecki at line three, each pair winning their match 8-0.
In singles play, Wiik picked up a line one win, taking down GU's Dhillon in three sets 3-6, 7-6, 10-6.
Next, Pena breezed to a 6-0, 6-0 win, toppling Bellisario at line two, and Austin earned the win over Abady at line three 6-1, 6-1.
Goodman went to three sets at line four, dropping the second set but recovering for a 6-2, 2-6, 10-5 win over DiGiovanni.
Klamecki earned a lopsided 6-0, 6-0 win over Healy at line five, and
Kaitlin Stevens took a shutout victory of her own, besting Silvera 6-0, 6-0 at line six.
The Tornados will begin conference play with their next match at McMurry, taking on the War Hawks on Saturday at 10 a.m.
