GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's tennis team extended their winning streak to four matches, toppling LeTourneau 6-3 on Friday.
Kayla Pena,
Natalia Goodman, and
Trinity Klamecki each picked up wins in both doubles and singles play, lifting the Tornados to their fourth straight win, three of which came at home.
The Tornados began the day with a 2-1 lead, taking two of three doubles matches.
At line one,
Isabella Wiik and
Kaitlin Stevens battled to a tiebreaker, but ultimately fell.
Pena and Goodman earned their first win of the day at line two, rolling past LETU's Deatherage and Weems 8-4, and
Claire Austin and Klamecki took a commanding 8-1 victory over Boulanger and Brisman at line three.
Concordia Texas continued its strong play in the singles matches, taking four wins over LETU.
Wiik earned a victory at line one, winning the first set by tiebreaker and the second 6-2 over Deatherage.
Next, Pena won line two in straight sets, rolling past Morris 6-3, 6-1.
At line three, Goodman took a lopsided 6-1, 6-0 victory over Weems, and Klamecki rounded out the CTX points with a 6-0, 6-1 win at line six over Brisman.
With their fourth straight victory, the Tornados improve to an impressive 4-1 record on the season.
The Tornados will continue non-conference play with a match against ASC foe East Texas Baptist on Saturday, playing at River Place Country Club in Austin, Texas at 2 p.m.
