AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's tennis team continued American Southwest Conference play, falling 7-2 to Hardin-Simmons on Saturday.
The Tornados took two of three matches in doubles play, but were unable to pick up a win singles play, ultimately falling to ASC foe Hardin-Simmons.
At line two doubles,
Natalia Goodman and
Kayla Pena teamed up for the first win of the day, toppling the HSU duo 8-4.
Claire Austin and
Trinity Klamecki picked up the win at line three, besting the HSU pair 8-5 to close out doubles play.
In singles play, Pena battled with HSU's Coleman, but came up short 6-3, 6-4 at line one.
At line two,
Isabella Wiik fell to Schaeffer 6-3, 6-4, and Austin came away empty at line three with a 6-2, 6-2 loss to Laywell.
Klamecki forced a third set at line five, but ultimately fell 6-3, 4-6, 10-7, and
Kaitlin Stevens took the first set but came up short in the next two, losing 2-6, 6-4, 10-5.
The Tornados will look to bounce back on April 9, continuing conference play with a showdown at Howard Payne at 2 p.m.
