GEORGETOWN, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 victory in the regular season finale, outplaying Sul Ross State and winning every set Saturday.
In doubles play, the Tornados dominated every match, dropping only one game between all three contests.
At line one,
Isabella Wiik and
Kaitlin Stevens teamed up for an 8-1 victory, and
Kayla Pena and
Natalia Goodman paired up for a clean 8-0 win at line two.
Claire Austin and
Trinity Klamecki wrapped up doubles play, sweeping line three 8-0.
In singles play, the Tornados rolled to six straight-sets victories, completing the 9-0 sweep.
At line one, Pena took a 6-0, 6-0 win, and Wiik earned a 6-0, 6-3 line two victory.
Austin also did not lose a game at line three, winning 6-0, 6-0, and Goodman matched her at line four with a 6-0, 6-0 win.
Klamecki continued the trend at line five, recording a 6-0, 6-0 victory, and
Emily Hines followed suit with a 6-0, 6-0 thrashing at line six.
After the match, Concordia texas took a moment to honor the program's three seniors,
Claire Austin,
Kaitlin Stevens, and
Natalia Goodman, for the continued hard work and dedication to the Tornados' program over their time at CTX.
With the regular season at a close, the Tornados turn their sights to the American Southwest Conference Tournament with the first round set for April 28 at UT Dallas in Richardson, Texas.
