BELTON, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's tennis team squared off with American Southwest Conference foe UT Dallas in a non-conference bout, besting the Comets 5-4 on Tuesday.
The Tornados began the day by taking two of three doubles matches and carried that over to singles play, edging out UT Dallas 5-4.
At doubles line one,
Joshua Bode and Adrian Mungia won the day's first match, taking down the UTD duo 8-5.
Esteban Arredondo and
Andres Padilla were next, teaming up for an 8-5 win to secure doubles play in the Tornados' favor.
Bode won his second match of the day in singles play, besting UTD's Vaithianathan in three sets by a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
At line three, Arredondo won a straight-sets victory, toppling Sharma 6-4, 6-4.
Padilla earned the win at line five, dropping the second set before taking the decisive third set for a total score of 6-3, 1-6, 6-4.
The Tornados will continue their road stint on Saturday, traveling to Brownwood, Texas for a conference match at Howard Payne at 2 p.m.
