Constancio finishes second at ASC Championships

GRANBURY, Texas – Ben Constancio marked a personal-best 54-hole score, pacing the Concordia Texas men's golf team and finishing the American Southwest Conference Championship as the runner-up Sunday.
 
Constancio shared the lead at the end of three rounds, marking a career-best 74-73-68 – 215, but fell in a one-hole playoff. He climbed three spots up the leaderboard with a stellar final round and ultimately finished second, the highest finish for a Tornado at the ASC Championships since 2019.
 
As a team, the Tornados climbed up the leaderboards as well, recording their best score in the concluding round. Concordia Texas shot 298-309-289 – 896 and finished third out of nine teams.
 
Travis Skorheim wrapped up the weekend with his best score, turning in a total scorecard of 74-77-73 – 224, and finished in a tie-for-10th.
 
CJ Reitmeyer matched his career-best 18-hole score with a 72 in the closing round, totaling 82-80-72 – 234 and advancing 14 spots on the final day to a tie-for-27th.
 
Next, Jorge Arnuad turned in a solid third round, totaling 75-84-76 – 235 and finishing in a tie-for-31st.
 
Justin Skorheim was consistent through all 54 holes, penciling in a three-round score of 78-79-79 – 236 and ending the weekend in a tie-for-33rd.
 
Jason Diebner rounded out the CTX scoring, riding a strong first round to a tie-for-38th with a 54-hole scorecard of 75-82-81 – 238.
 
After a strong showing at the ASC Championships, the Tornados' season comes to a close. Concordia Texas will return to the links next year with every member of the 2021-22 roster, and they will eye a conference championship for a squad loaded with talent and experience.
