AUSTIN, Texas - Concordia Texas volleyball players
Selena Cooper (22 assists, nine digs) and
Savannah Kari (17 kills, nine digs) neared double-doubles in the home finale against UT Dallas. Senior
Nicole Deering was honored pregame for Senior Day inside the Concordia Fieldhouse on Saturday.
The Tornados came out hot as an ace by Cooper pushed their lead to 16-10. The Tornados were one point away from a first set victory, but the Comets notched the final four points of the game to escape with the win.
A 7-1 run midway through set two gave UT Dallas a slight 12-8 edge. Both teams would trade points throughout the game, until the Comets posted five straight to end it at 25-17.
UT Dallas surged ahead for a 9-3 advantage early in the final set. The Tornados would climb back in it with a kill by Kari making it a 13-8 score. An 8-3 burst would up UT Dallas' lead to double double digits, before they claimed the set with a 25-16 win.
Concordia Texas will now head back out on the road to take on Howard Payne next Thursday, November 2nd at 6pm.
