SAN ANTONIO, Texas- The Concordia Texas men's basketball team fell in a competitive, neutral site matchup against Colorado College, 82-74. Senior guard Luis Gonzalez led the team with 19 points inside Bell Center on Sunday.
The Tornados started the first half aggressively with a huge defensive rebound by DJ Pigford for a go ahead layup by Ibrahima Diallo for the first points of the game. Following right after, another huge steal and layup by Pigford gave Concordia a 4-0 lead. In the final six minutes of the first half, Robert Hall bulldozed his way in the paint to toss it in to cap off a 6-0 run but the Tigers would end the first half with a 52-35 lead.
Midway through the second half, Pigford continued his dominant play with a turnaround jumper inside the paint to cut into the deficit. Minutes after, a strong rebound by Donovan Stafford resulted in a Gonzalez and-one layup. Much of the second half consisted with both teams trading buckets up until the final minutes of the game, but Colorado College would hold on for the victory.
The Tornados will travel back home to host Mary Hardin-Baylor for their first conference matchup on Saturday Dec. 2 at 3pm.
