BELTON, Texas- The Concordia University Texas men's soccer team showed determination in a 1-0 battle against Hardin-Simmons to advance into the ASC championship. Freshman defender Steven Dolan rocketed the game winner in the 40th minute of action.
The Tornados were firing on all cylinders, out shooting the Cowboys 16-10. Junior goalkeeper Brock Hendrickson tallied three saves for Concordia's sixth clean sheet of the season.
To start the first half, CTX came out explosive firing a total of six shots, with Dolan powering a shot from deep five minutes before half.
Coming out of intermission within the first three minutes, Junior midfielder Paul Claffey fired a shot that just missed to continue the momentum. The Tornados looked to extend their lead shooting three goals back-to-back in the 70th minute and would hold on to a hard fought 1-0 victory to move on to the American South Conference championship game.
Concordia will take on UT Dallas this Saturday at 6 PM in the ASC championship!
