Howard Payne reclaimed the lead and extended it to 64-56 with 13:25 left in the game. Concordia responded with a 13-4 surge to take a one-point lead with 11:09 left. With both teams trading baskets over the next few minutes, the score was tied at 78-all following a steal and layup by
Corey Thompson with just under four minutes left. The Yellowjackets would find one final 14-2 run in the final minutes to pull away for the victory.Â
Concordia Texas will be back in action on the road this Monday, Dec. 18th at Sul Ross State University. Tip off is set for 2 p.m.
