BROWNWOOD, Texas - Six Tornados reached double-figure scoring in a 93-85 loss at Howard Payne University. Junior guard Donovan Staffed posted his first double-double of the season with 16 points and 10 boards inside the Brownwood Coliseum on Saturday.

The Yellowjackets led 20-18 midway through the first half, before a run gave them an eight-point advantage with just over seven minutes remaining. The Tornados would dominate the final minutes of the half with a steal and dish by DJ Pigford to Almamy Diaby giving the CTX a 43-42 edge heading into the break. 

Howard Payne reclaimed the lead and extended it to 64-56 with 13:25 left in the game. Concordia responded with a 13-4 surge to take a one-point lead with 11:09 left. With both teams trading baskets over the next few minutes, the score was tied at 78-all following a steal and layup by Corey Thompson with just under four minutes left. The Yellowjackets would find one final 14-2 run in the final minutes to pull away for the victory. 

Concordia Texas will be back in action on the road this Monday, Dec. 18th at Sul Ross State University. Tip off is set for 2 p.m.
