GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Concordia Texas softball team swept a doubleheader against Southwestern University to extend their win streak to four games. Delaney Loosemore earned her first win as she struck out six batters in game one, while the Tornados posted 24 total runs at Taylor-Sanders Field.
GAME ONE: W, 13-6
The Pirates jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first two innings. The Tornados claimed their first lead of the game in the top of the fourth when they exploded for five runs, capped off by Zaleigh Perez RBI-single to send home Megan Hooper.
Southwestern immediately responded and took back the lead at 6-5 with a two-RBI double in the bottom of the frame. Scoring resumed in the sixth inning when Kylie Pavlicek single to left field to score Kylie Denaro. Cristina Ayala would later score on a passed by for the go-ahead run, and a RBI by Ellie Congalton assisted Emily Schmuck home to make the score 8-6 heading into the final inning. CTX would open the flood gates in the top of the seven as they scored five more runs for insurance, highlighted by a two-RBI single by Pavlicek.

GAME TWO: W, 11-2 (Six Innings)
The Pirates committed a total of seven errors in game two. After scoring their first run off an error, Emily Moses hit the first double in game two bringing home Cristina Ayala for an RBI to make the score 2-0. After Southwestern cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the first, CTX racked up four runs capped off by a three-RBI triple by Grace Coleman.
In the circle for the Tornados, Krista Burg held the pirates to only one run and five hits until being relieved in the bottom of the third. Both teams stayed relatively quiet, until Kaelyn Cash turned it on booming a hit to left center field bringing home three runs in the top of the fourth to make the score 9-2. Later in the top of the sixth, Moses batted in Schmuck and scorered on an error for the final run of the night.
