GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's and women's tennis team took down McMurry with a paramount performance resulting in a 9-0 victory for the men and 7-2 win for the women on Friday.
 
The Tornados men's team started the day on fire with a sweep of doubles plays, defeating McMurry in all three matches. At line one, 
Joshua Bode and 
Adrian Munguia, teamed up for their tenth win as a duo this season, conquering the McMurry pair 8-1, extending it to their 8th win streak. 
 
Esteban Arredondo and 
Joeri Bregman, continued to stay perfect as the duo pair earned their 4th win together with a masterful 8-2 victory at line two. 
Daniel Beckles and 
Andres Padilla wrapped up doubles play, edging out the War Hawks duo 8-5. 
 
CTX men's carried the dominant play over to the singles matches, winning all six to secure the 9-0 sweep. At line one, 
Bode prevailed over McM's Smith 6-4, 7-6, picking up his tenth win and 
Munguia followed by toppling McM's Villalovos with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at line two. 
Padilla kept CTX hot, defeating Cabe at line three, and 
Jorge Garcia out matching his opponent Edwards 6-2, 6-3 at line four. Next, 
Arredondo shut out Arzuaga winning 6-1, 6-2 at line five, and 
Evan Pena Jr. closed up the day with 6-3, 6-2 victory over Bryant at line six.
 
The Tornados women's team began the day with a 2-1 lead, taking two of three doubles matches. 
Kaitlin Stevens and Isabella Wiik fought in a close match up, but ultimately fell at line one, 8-7.
 
At line two, 
Kayla Pena and 
Isabella Cepeda got the first dub of the day defeating McM's pair 8-4, and 
Claire Austin and 
Trinity Klamecki followed by an overtaking 8-5 victory at line three. Concordia's Texas women's team continued their strong play in the singles matches, taking five wins over McMurry.
 
Pena secured a victory at line one, winning the first single set 6-3, 6-1 over Turner. 
Wiik continued to bring the heat rolling past Fly 6-3, 6-3 in a excelled performance at line two. Next at line three, 
Cepeda took a lopsided 6-1, 6-1 victory over Vincent, and 
Emily Hines stayed strong to edge past Carroll 7-6, 5-2 in a triumph performance at line five. 
Klamecki secured CTX's last win of the day in a 7-6, 6-3 win at line six over DeFriend.
