Austin, Texas- The Concordia Texas men's tennis team continued their dominance, extending the longest win streak in the program's history to 11 games. CTX defeated Pacific University 6-3 on Monday, bringing their overall record to 13-2 at the Austin Tennis Academy.
The Tornados started off strong, winning two of the three doubles matches against Pacific University.
Joshua Bode, paired with teammate
Adrian Munguia, prevailed at line one 8-6, while
Esteban Arredondo and
Joeri Bregman defeated the Pacific duo 8-3 at line two.
Leading by one heading into the single matches, Bode
laid the hammer, dominating his opponent by a score 6-1, 6-0 at line one. Munguia
picked up the win at court two after his opponent retired in the third set.
At position five,
Daniel Beckles secured the win for CTX with a dominating straight-set win by a score 6-3, 7-6.
Jorge Garcia at line six, closed the singles matches for the Tornados with a come from behind three-set victory by a score of 2-6, 7-5, 10-7.
The Concordia Texas Tornados will look to keep their streak alive in a matchup against Hardin Simmons University on April 1 Saturday in Abilene, Texas.
