BOX SCORE ABILENE, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's tennis team saw their 11-match win streak come to an end in a 5-4 loss to Hardin-Simmons University. Esteban Arredondo tallied two wins, including a three-set win in singles play at the Streich Tennis Center on Saturday.
Joshua Bode and Adrian Munguia's 12-match doubles win streak was upended in an 8-7 decision in the first match, but the duos of Arredondo / Joeri Bregman and Daniel Beckles / Andres Padilla helped CTX gain a 2-1 edge with a pair of 8-6 wins.Â
Bode rebounded nicely for a 7-5, 6-2 singles win on court one. Munguia was bested in a three-set battle as Hardin-Simmons would go on to win the next two singles matches as well.Â
Keeping the Tornados alive, Arredondo outlasted his opponent with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 triumph to even the series at 4-4. The Cowboys would earn a victory on line six to claim the match victory.
Concordia Texas will now head to Georgetown, Texas to take on #17 Southwestern on Tuesday, April 5th. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
