Seven Tornados Deemed to the Men's Tennis All-ASC Teams

Joshua Bode was named the ASC West MVP, and Daniel Beckles was named the ASC Freshman of the Year.

RICHARDSON, Texas - In the midst of an historic season (school-record 17 wins and counting), the Concordia Texas men's tennis team matched a program-high with seven players awarded All-ASC honors. Grad senior Joshua Bode was deemed the ASC West Division Most Valuable Player, while rookie Daniel Beckles was named the ASC Freshman of the Year, the league's office announced on Wednesday.

Bode, the school's all-time wins leader, won the West Division Most Valuable Player after posting a 20-1 record in singles and 19-2 record in doubles for the Tornados. Bode was also the Most Valuable Player on the All-Tournament Team for the 2023 ASC Men's Tennis title winners. He is also currently on a school-record 17 match winning streak in singles.

Beckles was a solid force for the Tornados on the season, boasting a singles record of 10-3 and doubles record of 12-3. On flight three in doubles, he and teammate Andres Padilla were recognized on the ASC All-Conference Team. Padilla was also recognized on the All-ASC West Second Team where he paced to nine wins on line three.

Joining Bode on the ASC All-Conference Team was Esteban Arredondo, who went 14-6 overall and 9-2 on line five. Arredondo was also appointed to the the ASC All-Conference Doubles team where where and his partner, Joeri Bregman, posted a record of 11-2 on line two. 

Joining his fellow teammates with All-ASC West Division accolades was Adrian Munguia, who was named to the ASC West Second Team in singles and doubles action. Adrian tallied a healthy record of 10-5 in solo play, and teamed up with Bode for a school-best 19 wins in a single season in doubles. Rounding out the award recipients was Jorge Garcia (flight 6), who posted a steady 10-9 record in singles.

Concordia Texas will now waiting for the NCAA Selection Show on May 1 to find out their next opponent in the first round.
