RICHARDSON, Texas - Concordia Texas junior
Kamron Loera has been named the American Southwest Conference Cross Country Runner of the Week for his exceptional performance on Saturday. The San Antonio native obliterated the field and claimed first place at the Southwestern Showdown last weekend.
The junior clocked in at 26:30.5 in the 8k race, which was 55 seconds faster than the next finish. The first-place finish marks the first that a CTX student-athlete won an individual event since
Emily Villines in 2017. Loera helped lead the men's team to second-place overall at the meet and first among ASC competitors. He has now captured the first three weeks of conference runner of the week honors.
