GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's tennis team downed Schreiner University by a score of 7-2 in a home contest. Junior Kayla Pena had the match of the night with a three set thriller (6-3, 2-6, 10-8) on line one at East View High School in Georgetown, Texas.
In doubles play, Pena and Isabella Cepeda preserved the 8-3 win on court one. Kaitlin Stevens and Emily Pullen made quick work of their opponents with an 8-1 win, while Natalia Goodman & Aria Moreni were bested in a close 8-6 matchup.
Up 2-1 going into singles play, Cepeda kept up her impressive day with a 6-2, 6-1 win on line two. Stevens (6-2, 6-2) & Trinity Klamecki (6-1, 6-3) followed suit in courts six and three.
Pullen cruised to a 6-1 victory in the first set before grinding out a 7-6 win to give Concordia their sixth win of the day. Pena then closed out the evening with her three-set win.
Concordia Texas will be right back in action tomorrow where they will host LeTourneau at 2pm.
