GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's tennis team swept LeTourneau University, 9-0. Trinity Klamecki had the match of the day as she outlasted her opponent in a three-set thriller at the River Place Country Club on Saturday.
The teams of Emily Pullen / Kaitlin Stevens (8-1) & Natalia Goodman / Klamecki (8-2) were efficient in their victories. Isabella Cepeda & Kayla Pena preserved court one with an 8-5 win to make the score 3-0 going into singles play.
Pena (6-2, 6-3), Cepeda (6-1, 6-1), Goodman (6-4, 6-3), & Aria Moreni (6-3, 6-1) all had convincing victories on the day. In her return to action, Rebekah McQueen earned a gritty 7-6, 7-5 on line six. Klamecki won the first set (7-5) & dropped the next (3-6) before winning the final set 10-8 to cap off the day.
Concordia Texas will next be back in action on Thursday, February 29th against Covenant College at Southwestern University. First serve is set for 2pm.
