HOUSTON, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's golf team produced a legendary day two surge that helped them claim the Space City Classic title. Parker Smith led the way as he tied for fifth, while CJ Reitmeyer and Jorge Arnaud also reached the top-10 leaderboard at the Gus Wortham Park Golf Course.
Smith spearheaded the comeback effort as he shot a 69 on round three, which was the lowest of the field. Overall, he scored 72-77-69–218. Reitmeyer also showed poise throughout the tournament as his score of 73-77-71–221 gave him a seventh-place finish at the event.Â
Arnaud placed eighth at the Classic with a score of 74-70-78–222, while AJ So produced a steady score of 73-75-77–225 to tie for 13th. Nicholas Evans rounded out the scoring for CTX where his 75-75-81–231 score positioned him in 29th overall. Carl Martinez (84-86-82–252) also competed at the event as an individual where he finished 49th.
As a unit, the Tornados generated a course-best 52 birdies. Smith tallied a field-high 12 birdies, while Arnaud & So finished with the second most at 11.Â

Concordia Texas will now prepare for the Schreiner Spring Shootout in Kerrville, Texas on March 4-5.
