GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's tennis team extended their win streak to four with a win over Covenant College. The Tornados won by a score of 7-2 at the Southwestern University Tennis Courts on Wednesday.
The teams of Esteban Arredondo / Kishan Kersten (8-2) and Joeri Bergman / Daniel Beckles (8-6) garnered wins in doubles for CTX. Joshua Bode & Adrian Munguia suffered their first loss as a team this season in an 8-7 tiebreaker decision.
Heading into a singles play with a 2-1 lead, Bode avenged his loss with a 6-3, 6-4 win on line one. Steven Scholz followed suit on court two with a 6-4, 6-4 triumph, while Kersten was bested in a three-set match on line three to make it a 4-2 match.
Bregman (6-1, 6-3), Beckles (6-1, 7-5), & Arredondo (6-3, 6-3) all collected wins in the final three matches to surge Concordia ahead to victory.
Concordia Texas will next be back in action on Saturday, March 2nd against East Texas Baptist at the River Place Country Club in Austin. First serve is set for 2pm.
