BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's tennis program kicked off the 2024 spring campaign in convincing fashion. The Tornados defeated the Yellowjackets 8-1 at the Nabers Tennis Center on Saturday.
In doubles, the teams of Natalia Goodman / Trinity Klamecki and Kaitlin Stevens / Emily Pullen cruised to 8-1 victories. The tandem of Isabella Cepeda & Kayla Pena battled in an 6-8 decision on court one.
Pena (6-0, 6-1) & Cepeda (6-3, 6-2) both bounced back with emphatic wins on line one and two of singles play. Aria Moreni posted an identical score as Cepeda on line five, while Klamecki earned a 6-1, 6-2 win on line three. Pullen shined in her debut with a 6-0, 6-3 victory, while Rebekah McQueen earned a 6-3, 6-3 triumph on line six to sweep singles for the Tornados.
Concordia Texas will now have time to prepare before traveling to San Antonio to face Trinity next Friday, February 16th at 4pm.
