GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's tennis team defeated Rhodes College by a score of 7-2. The Tornados swept doubles play en route to a dominant day at East View High School on Monday.
Joshua Bode & Adrian Munguia got things started with an 8-4 win on line one, while Daniel Beckles & Steven Scholz collected an 8-5 victory. The team of Joeri Bregman & Kishan Kersten outlasted their opponents 8-7 to give CTX a 3-0 lead going into singles.
Bode cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win on line one, while Scholz followed right behind with a 6-2, 7-5 victory to clinch the match for the Tornados. The Lynx won their first match of the day on line three, but the Tornados responded with a 6-3, 6-3 win by Kersten on court four. Rhodes won their second match on line five, before CTX capped off the day with a 7-5, 6-2 triumph by Daniel Beckles on line six.
Concordia Texas will next host Wesleyan University this Friday, March 15th at Southwestern University. First serve is set for 4pm.
