AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's golf team surged to a second-place finish as the host team at the Linda Lowery Invitational.
Parker Smith tied for first at the event, while
Nicholas Evans tied for third at The Hills Country Club.
Smith moved up five spots in the second round with a score of 75-74-149 (+5). After tying for first, Smith and Texas Lutheran's golfer competed in a playoff on the 18th hole where Smith was edged by one shot. Evans (73-77-150) finished one shot behind Smith to help the Tornados finish ahead of six other conference opponents at the tourney.
CJ Reitmeyer placed 15th overall at the event as his score improved by four shots on day two at 80-76-156. Rounding out the team scoring for Concordia Texas was
Jorge Arnaud, who tied for 25th place at 83-77-160.
AJ So was the top individiual for CTX with a score of 83-78-161 to tie for 28th.
Carl Martinez tied for 46th-place and showed the most improvement between rounds with a score of 87-81-168. Rounding out play for Concordia was
Koke Dolce (84-93-177, 64th) and
Connor Colangelo (85-96-181, T-65th).
Concordia Texas will next conclude the regular season at Southwestern where they will play one round in Georgetown, Texas on April 8th.
