AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas softball team took down UT Dallas in an ASC doubleheader. Kylie Denaro highlighted the day with a walk-off RBI in game one at Roberts Family Field on Thursday.
GAME ONE: W, 2-1
Both teams were clicking in the circle and defensively as the score was 0-0 through the first four innings. The Comets struck first on the scoreboard with a run in the top of the fifth, but CTX answered immediately when Kylie Kirk doubled to left field to score Denaro.
In the bottom of the final inning, Alexa Perez singled through the pitcher's legs to get on base. Emily Schmuck then came in to pinch run for Perez & stole second to get into scoring position. Denaro would then step up to the plate and deliver the walk-off RBI for the win.

GAME TWO: W, 3-2
CTX made it a 1-0 game with a RBI-triple by Molly Olivarez that scored Grace Coleman in the bottom of the fourth. The Comets then took their first lead of game two with a pair of runs in the fifth.
Immediately in the next half inning, Christian Everett laid down a bunt to score Megan Hooper on a field and tie the game. Later in the fifth, another bunt by Denaro resulted in a hit and extra-bases error that brought Everett home for the go-ahead run. CTX would then close out the game and record the final six outs to seal the game two victory.

Concordia Texas will now look to claim game three against UT Dallas tomorrow. First pitch is set for 11am.
