GRANBURY, Texas - The Concordia Texas Men's golf team had an excellent showing with a third-place finish at the ASC Championships. The Tornados shot 291-294-585 (+13) and Parker Smith (71-68-139, -4) tied for first overall at the Nutcracker Golf Club. Smith also recieved ASC All-Tournament and ASC Second Team Accolades at the event. Joining Smith on the All-ASC Team were Jorge Arnaud and Nicholas Evans who were deemed All-ASC Honorable Mention.

DAY ONE UPDATE

Smith shot a team best 71, one-under to lead the team. He fired a team-best six birdies and is currently tied for third at the event. Arnaud & CJ Reitmeyer both shot a 73 and are tied for 11th.

Evans was one shot behind Arnaud & Reitmeyer as he is tied for 14th overall, while AJ So tallied a 75 to tie for 18th. Carl Martinez rounded out the scoring for CTX with an 80.

Smith currently leads the entire field with a par-three average of 2.25. Evans leads the team with a total of 13 pars, while So is only one of five competitors at the event with an Eagle (hole 16).

DAY TWO UPDATE

Play for the entire field has been canceled on Saturday due to weather. Action will resume on Sunday. 18 holes are scheduled for Sunday, and the tournament has now been reduced to a 36-hole championship.

DAY THREE UPDATE

Smith improved by three strokes on the final round and shot 3-under par to earn a spot on the ASC All-Tournament Team. Arnaud joined Smith in the top-10 as he tied for tenth with another round of 73.

Reitmeyer fired a 76 to finish 16th overall, while Evans tallied a 77 to tie for 21st. So completed his final round tied for 30th with a score of 81, while Maritnez (tied-36th) improved by two strokes at 78 to round out the scoring for CTX.

Smith finished with a course-best 11 birdies, none other bigger than his birdie on the 18th-hole to tie for first and force a playoff. Parker would fall just short of the individual crown as UT Dallas' Daniel Shofner chipped in for the win on the playoff hole.

Evans and Arnaud played steady throughout the tournament as they led the entire field with 24 pars each. Concordia as a whole showed consistency as they averaged 2.63 shots on par-threes to lead the field.
