AUSTIN, Texas – Concordia Texas Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Ronda Seagraves has announced the hiring of Callie Andrews as a new Assistant Athletic Trainer. The addition of Andrews now makes it four members of Concordia's Athletic Training Staff. Andrews is set to officially start her duties on August 1st alongside Chris Seo.
"We are excited to have Callie join our Sports Medicine team. Her enthusiasm and experience for caring for student-athletes was apparent in the interview process. She is passionate and committed to the health and wellness of our athletes and will be a great fit with our other athletic trainers." said Seagraves.
Andrews earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Master of Science in Athletic Training from Oregon State University. She first volunteered as a physical therapist aid at a clinic in Corvallis, Oregon in 2019. While in her graduate program at Oregon State, she oversaw numerous teams such as football, rowing, volleyball, and track & field over the course of two years as an athletic training student.
During the summers of 2021-23, Andrews worked as an athletic trainer at Woodward West in Tehachapi, California where she worked with extreme sport athletes. Upon completion of her master's program, she was appointed as an athletic training intern for the men's and women's tennis teams at Arizona State University.
Now after two years in Tempe, Andrews is excited to work with Concordia Texas. "I'm looking forward to this new position and getting to explore Austin!"
Now with the addition of another athletic trainer on campus for the upcoming school year, head athletic trainer Colleen Coombs stated, "I am thrilled to have Callie join our Athletic Training staff. Her experience from her previous roles will make her an asset to our department. In addition, her positivity and approach to patient care will be invaluable for our student athletes. I look forward to seeing the great strides she will make in her time here."
