AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's basketball team stayed perfect on the season, using a dominant second half to defeat Huston-Tillotson 108-91 inside Deb & Don Christian Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.
The Tornados and Rams traded blows throughout the first half, with the score tied four different times and the lead changing twice. Concordia held a slim 48-44 advantage at the break.
In the second half, the Tornados found their rhythm offensively, outscoring Huston-Tillotson 60-47 behind efficient shooting and strong play in transition. Concordia's fast break attack proved decisive, as they tallied 39 points in transition compared to Huston-Tillotson's 32.
Joey Ramirez and Anariss Brandon led the charge, combining for 49 points, while Aaron San Miguel added 20 points with four three-pointers. The Tornados also got a lift from their bench, which contributed 33 points in the win.
