SEGUIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas softball team was downed in a pair of close contests against Texas Lutheran. Malarie Mican went 5-7 on the day at Ed Kruse Stadium on Saturday.
GAME ONE: L, 3-2
It was a defensive battle in game one as Kylie Kirk was excellent in the circle with six strikeouts and only two earned runs allowed in the complete game effort. The Tornados struck first when Mican connected on a RBI-single to score Karlee Mathis in the second inning.
The Bulldogs tied the game in the bottom of the frame, but Concordia reclaimed the lead in the fifth when Grace Coleman put the ball in play to score Kirk in the fifth. Texas Lutheran once again answered in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game at 2-2. They would then walk-off game one to escape with the victory.Â

GAME TWO: L, 4-0
The Bulldogs posted one run in the third and two more in the fifth inning. The Tornados' best chance at scoring came in the sixth with runners on the corner, but TLU would get out of the inning unscathed as they would add one more run in the sixth for the win.

The Tornados will next prepare for their first home series against McMurry starting next Friday, February 21st. First pitch is set for 5pm.
