SHREVEPORT, Louisiana - Concordia Texas junior guard Joey Ramirez poured in a career-high 41 points in an 84-67 victory over Centenary. Ramirez's 41 points marks the most by a Tornado since the 2015-16 season as the Tornados collected their fourth consecutive win inside Gold Gym on Friday.
The score was tied at 9-all when Adolfo Martinez found Ramirez for a three that sparked a 7-0 run for Concordia. With only three minutes left, CTX touched their largest lead of the first half with three minutes left when Aaron San Miguel connected with Martinez for another three-pointer that made the score 35-21 as the Tornados carried a 40-27 lead into the break.
Leaving no doubt, CTX wouldn't allow the Gents to make it a single digit game. Concordia's advantage would reach as much as 26 points following a Jaiden Gastile kick out to San Miguel for a three. Spot points by the Gents at the end of the game would not be enough as the Tornados completed the victory.
BOX SCORE STANDOUTS
Joey Ramirez 41 Pts (Career-High), 8 Reb
Donovan Stafford 13 Pts, 3 Reb
Evan Butts 6 Pts, 4 Ast, 2 Reb
