AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas softball team completes the series sweep against the Ozarks with a 9-1 win in five innings. Addison Lehew went 3-3 with one RBI and Karlee Mathis posted three RBIs at Roberts Family Field on Saturday.
The Tornados struck first with a RBI single by Lehew in the first inning of play. The Eagles would tie it at 1-1 in the second inning.
CTX would respond with a RBI-double by Molly Oilvarez, a two RBI double from Kylie Pavlicek and Pavlicek would score after Taylor Smrt advanced to second off of an Eagles error.
It was an eventful third inning for the Tornados' offense as they would reclaim a 5-1 lead. Kylie Kirk would help extend the lead to 6-1 with an RBI single to bring home Harley Drouillard.
In the bottom of the fifth inning with the bases loaded, Mathis would hit a two-RBI triple to give the Tornados the win off of a run-rule score.
