Men's Soccer Extends Unbeaten SCAC Run with Shutout Win at Hendrix

Tornados Record Clean Sheet Victory at Hendrix

CONWAY, Ark. – The Concordia University Texas men's soccer team remained unbeaten in SCAC play with a 1-0 victory over Hendrix College on Sunday afternoon at Warrior Soccer Field.

The two teams battled through a scoreless first half, with Concordia generating several quality opportunities while holding Hendrix to just two shots in the opening 45 minutes. The Tornados earned three first-half corner kicks and nearly broke through before halftime when Tyler Kenny forced a shot in the 44th minute, but it was saved.

Concordia continued to press forward in the second half and finally found the breakthrough in the 60th minute when the Tornados capitalized on an own goal to take a 1-0 advantage. The CTX defense made the lead stand over the final 30 minutes.

Leonel Cuellar anchored the back line and recorded a save to preserve the clean sheet, while the Tornados limited Hendrix to just one shot on goal throughout the match.

Joseph Perez led Concordia with two shots, while Steven Dolan, Javion Roberts, Tyler Kenny, Adan Rajendran, Thomas Saylae and Enoch Morebise each contributed offensively as the Tornados controlled possession throughout much of the contest.

Concordia finished with an 8-4 advantage in shots and a 7-3 edge in corner kicks. The Tornados also held Hendrix to only one shot on target en route to their seventh conference win of the season.

Concordia Texas will next return home on Friday, October 30, to take on Colorado College in SCAC action.
