AUSTIN, Texas – Concordia Texas stormed back from an early deficit and closed with a dominant fourth quarter to defeat the University of Dallas 68–65 on Saturday evening inside the Deb & Don Christian Fieldhouse. The win moves CTX to 7–13 overall and 4–7 in SCAC play, fueled by a 25‑point final period and major contributions from both the starting group and the bench.
Dallas opened the game on a 9–0 run and led 17–8 after the first quarter, but the Tornados steadily chipped away. A strong second quarter—highlighted by threes from Katelyn Tietjen, Aja Holmes, and Zoiey Jumawan—cut the deficit to 35–28 at halftime. CTX fully flipped the momentum in the third, tying the game at 35–35 on a Trejo three.
From there, Concordia took control. The Tornados attacked the paint, dominated the glass, and converted at the free‑throw line, going 11–13 in the final period. CTX outrebounded Dallas 45–36, including 20 offensive boards, generating 14 second‑chance points that proved decisive.
Taysie Trejo delivered one of the best all‑around performances of the season, finishing with 16 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals while shooting a perfect 5–5 at the line. Holmes provided a major spark off the bench with 14 points on 5–6 shooting, including two threes. Tietjen added 8 points and 4 assists, and Briann Warehime chipped in 8 points with two made threes.
Concordia's depth once again made a difference, with the bench contributing 31 points and helping CTX outscore Dallas 25–19 in the final frame to secure the comeback victory.
