AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas women's tennis team continued its dominant run in conference play on Saturday, securing a 7-0 sweep over the University of Dallas at River Place Country Club. The victory marks the Tornados' third shutout in SCAC action this season.
The Tornados controlled the match from the start picking up the doubles point. The teams of Johanna Winkler / Aria Moreni (6-3) & Emily Pullen / Valerie Sanchez (6-1) posted wins to carry momentum into singles play.
In singles action, Concordia delivered a clean sweep across all courts. Sanchez set the tone at No. 1 singles with a straight-set victory, 7-6, 6-1. Pullen followed with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2, while Moreni secured a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3.
At No. 4, Jeauxleigh Cantu cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win, and Kailey Albrecht matched that performance with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 5. The Tornados also picked up a win by default at No. 6 to complete the sweep.
Concordia Texas will next travel to Houston to take on St. Thomas next Friday, March 27th. First serve is scheduled for 2pm.
