AUSTIN, Texas - The Concordia Texas men's tennis team earned a 5-2 victory over McMurry, continuing its strong run in SCAC play. The Tornados extended their win streak to six on Senior Day at the River Place Country Club on Saturday.
The Tornados took two of three doubles matches to grab early momentum. Aaron Griffin and Kade Talbot secured a 6-1 win at No. 2 doubles, while Jake Riggs and Steven Scholz followed with a 6-1 victory at No. 3.
In singles, Concordia won four of six flights to clinch the match. Scholz led the way with a dominant straight-set win at No. 1, while Rowan Daniell added a 7-5, 6-2 victory at No. 5. Talbot picked up a win at No. 4 after his opponent retired, and Jack Rectenwald closed things out with a strong 6-0, 6-1 performance at No. 6.
Concordia Texas will next travel to Clarksville, Arkansas to take ont he University of the Ozarks next Friday, Apil 17th. First serve is scheduled for 1pm.
