Outlook (2010-2011)

Kaleigh Landry comes to Concordia Texas after spending one year at McMurry University. While there she contributed to a team that was 18-10 and finished with a runner-up finish in the American Southwest Conference Tournament. Landry, a 5'7 guard was the Offensive Player of the Year in District 19-4A in her senior year at Dayton High School.

As a freshman at McMurry Landry played in 13 games and shot over 27% from behind the arc. She accumulated a 3.87 g.p.a., was honored as Alpha Lambda Delta, and named to the Dean's List. Kaleigh comes to the Tornados along with Kyla Hutson, who also played one year at McMurry while helping the team to its runner-up finish in 2009-2010.

Head Coach Rusty Rainbolt said Kaleigh could provide the Tornados with an ability to stretch the floor offensively with her capability to shoot the ball from the perimeter.

"Kaleigh is a skilled guard who really has a aptitude for the game of basketball. Defensively she is always in the proper position and gettting to her spots. She shoots the ball extremely well and can get her shot off in a number of ways. She has a great motor, a great heart, and is also very talented in the classroom."

High School

Landry averaged 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists per game as a senior on her way to being named the District 19-4A Offensive Player of the Year. She guided her squad to a 20-11 record while playing for Coach David Wooldridge. Kaleigh set school records for 3-pt shots attempted (698) 3-pt shots made (301), and 3-pt shots made in a game (8).

The Dayton, Texas native was named to the 2009 Academic All-District team and finished high school with a 5.084 grade point average, good for fifth in her class.

Kaleigh played club basketball for the Kingwood Lady Tigers for Coach Robert Johnson.

In addition to her time on the basketball court, Landry was a letter-winner on the cross-country team at Dayton High School.

Personal

Kaleigh is the daughter of Jerry and Karen Landry, and she has a brother, Tyler (15). She is a kinesiology major who has hopes of one day becoming an exercise physiologist.
