Alex O'Neal comes to Concordia Texas after spending two years at Grayson Junior College. O'Neal, a 5'3 point guard, was First Team All-District in her senior campaign with Mansfield High School.
In her two years at Grayson O'Neal made over 50 starts for head coach Tommy Collins. In 2009-2010 she averaged 8 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists per game and shot over 35% from the 3-point line while maintaing a 3.4 grade point average.
Head Coach Rusty Rainbolt said Alex will provide the Tornados with a all-around ability from the guard spot.
"Alex is just a great all-around point guard. She does a great job of controlling the game, distributing the ball and shoots it really well. Also she provides so many of the intangibles you love in a point guard. She is a great communicator and knows the game really well. Her presence on the court is superb.
High School
O'Neal averaged 5 points and 3 assists per game as a senior and was named first team all-district in her season season. In that same year she helped her team reach the district finals under head coach Natasha Stewart.,
The Mansfield, Texas native carried a 3.5 g.p.a. throughout high school and was part of the National Honor Society.
Personal
Alex is the daughter of Karen and William O'Neal. She is a secondary education major and has hopes of becoming a high school teacher and coach.
