Outlook (2010-2011)

Shamika Singleton comes to Concordia Texas after spending two years at Lubbock Christian University. While there she contributed to a team that went 46-19 while capturing two top 25 NAIA finishes. Singleton, a 6'0 post player, was the Texas 2A Player of the Year in her senior campaign at Hemphill High School.

As a sophomore at LCU, Singleton made 21 starts for head coach Steve Gomez and was the team's second-leading scorer at 10 points per contest. Shamika shot 54% from the field and also led the team in rebounding.

Head Coach Rusty Rainbolt said Shamika will provide the Tornados with a dominant inside scoring threat.

"Shamika is a definite game changer. She can post up, shoot the jumper and finish with both hands in a variety of ways. We love how hard she plays and the impact she can have on both ends of the court. Shamika is a perfect fit for our style of play and when you have someone with such a high desire to succeed, it makes it very easy as a coach."  

High School

Singleton averaged 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals per game as a senior on her way to being named as a Miss Texas Basketball nominee. She guided her squad to the regional finals while playing for Coach Rosie Miller-Mays. 

The Hemphill, Texas native carried a 3.47 g.p.a. throughout her time at Hemphill and earned multiple letters in cross-country, track & field and cheerleading.

Personal

Shamika is the daughter of Tommy Singleton and Cotina Jones. She has one brother, Tommy (19) and two younger sisters, De'Angela (18) and Tiera (8). Shamika is a computer science major who hopes of one day becoming a computer programmer.
