An honorable-mention All-American Southwest Conference (ASC) selection as a defender, who also was named to the league's fall academic Honor Roll … played in all 17 matches and started 15 times … recorded one assist in the Tornados' 3-1 victory against Howard Payne (Oct. 26) … took two shots, including one on goal.

Freshman (2011)
Was one of four players to start all 16 matches … earned honorable-mention All-ASC accolades and was named the team’s Newcomer of the Year … finished the season with two assists … key member of a back line which helped the program set two single-season school records for fewest goals allowed (26) and goals against average (1.53), while also blanking two opponents and holding seven to one goal or less … set up goals against East Texas Baptist (Oct. 6) and Centenary (Oct. 15).

High School
Four-year letter winner as a midfielder at College Park High School … served as a team captain … first-team all-district selection as a junior and senior … also named first-team all-county … voted team MVP in his senior year … also lettered in track & field for three years … qualified for regionals in the 4x100 each season and in the 200-meter dash as a junior and senior.

Personal
Son of John and Pat Ruhe … has one brother, Greg … also competes for the Tornados' men's track & field team … majoring in physical therapy.
