Robert Courtney enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Concordia University Texas men's soccer team.

Courtney, who is a product of the Tornados' program, will assist head coach Corey Miller in all aspects of the squad, including recruiting.

The Santa Fe, Texas, native started his collegiate playing career as a defender an forward at Houston Baptist. Courtney then transferred to Concordia Texas, where he competed at defender before his career was cut short due to injury.

Courtney was a member of the 2009 Tornados defense, which posted a program-record four shutouts.

Courtney, who received a bachelor of science degree in biology and environmental science from Concordia Texas in 2013, resides in Austin.
