Lauren Slatten is in her first year as an assistant coach for the Concordia Texas softball program.
Slatten joins the Tornados' staff after a four-year collegiate pitching career between the University of Texas and St. Edward's.
Slatten pitched for two years with the Longhorns, making 27 appearances, including eight starts, where she posted a 5-3 record and struck out 36 batters in 74.1 innings of work. Slatten spent her final two seasons with the Hilltoppers, where she was a two time All-Heartland Conference selection, including being named First-Team All-Region, Heartland Conference Pitcher of the Year, Heartland Newcomer of the Year and a first team all-conference selection during her junior season.
Since wrapping up her collegiate career, Slatten has become a personal coach and trainer for Austin area softball players.
A native of Cincinatti, Ohio, Slatten graduated from St. Edward's with a degree in biology and currently resides in Austin..
