Outlook (2010-2011)

Deja Thomas returns for her junior season at Concordia after appearing in 17 games last year for the Tornados. Thomas, a 5'8 wing, was the District 25-4A MVP in her senior campaign at Lyndon B. Johnson High School.

Last year Deja shot 29% from the three-point line while averaging just under four points a contest. Thomas collected a career-high nine rebounds against Mary Hardin-Baylor on January 29th and scored her personal best of 10 points against Hardin Simmons on February 4th. For the year Deja shot 33% from the field and started two games for CTX.

Head Coach Rusty Rainbolt said Deja brings an inside-out versatility to the court for the Tornados this year.

"Deja brings a lot of positives to the court for us. She has the ability to shoot the ball well from the perimeter and can attack from the block and high post as well. Deja moves really well and can make a huge difference defensively and on the glass. She has a great energy about her and really cares about everyone on the team. Deja does a lot of the little things that can sometimes go unnoticed."
 
High School

Deja averaged 18 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists per game as a senior on her way to all-district honors at LBJ High School. She was a three-year starter for Coach Renee' Brown and led the team to four district championships.

In high school Deja graduated in the top 10 percent of her class.

Personal

Deja is the daughter of Deardra Thomas and has two brothers, Demarco (15) and Qawnee (8). She is a kinesology major and hopes to one day be a high school basketball coach or athletic director.
