Julia Bellquist returns for her sophomore season at Concordia after coming off a sophomore campaing which saw Bellquist make 15 starts for the Tornados. Bellquist, a 5'7 guard, averaged seven points a game last year for CTX.

In 2009-2010 Julia connected on 34 three-pointers and shot 34% from behind the arc. Bellquist scored a career-best 17 points in her collegiate debut, going 4-5 from the three-point line in a win vs the University of the Ozarks.

Head Coach Rusty Rainbolt said Bellquist gives the Tornados an ability to stretch the floor offensivley.

"Julia is such a great shooter with her quick release and ability to knock down shots from well behind the arc. She plays extremely hard on the defensive end and is working to improve other aspects of her game. With her ability to score from the perimeter, it opens up our post players inside and forces the defense to make decisions on how they are going to guard us. Julia is an outstanding student who has a bright, bright future in her sports marketing ambitions.
 
High School

Julia averaged 10 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals per game as a senior on her way to all-district honors at at Anderson High School. She was a four-year letter winner for coach Katrina Hall.

In the classroom Julia carries a perfect 4.0 grade point average and is currently pursuing an internship with local professional sports franchises.

Personal

Julia is the daughter of Julie Bonner and John Bellquist and has one sister, Jordan (22). She is a business marketing major with hopes of one day owning her own successful business or restraunt.
