David Kenney begins his second year as an assistant coach for the Concordia Texas women's soccer team
In his first season, Kenney helped the CTX women finish 10-8 and advance to the American Southwest Conference Quarterfinals.Â
Kenney also currently serves as the assistant director of select for FC Westlake in Austin. In two seasons with FC Westlake, Kenney helped the team to a USC U-13 Championship as well as an Austin Labor Day Cup Championship in 2016.
Prior to coming to Austin, Kenney was a staff coach for the Albion Hurricanes FC in Houston from 2014-16. In three years with the Hurricanes, Kenney helped the program to two EEDOAÂ U-13 Championships, two Lonestar Capital Cup Championships, three USC U-12 Championships while also serving as the head coach for the Region III Premier West team.
Kenney held various positions in soccer from 2010-2014. Most notably, Kenney served as a coach for the Wake FC in Holly Springs, N.C., the Director of Youth Sports for i9 Sports in Cary, N.C.
In 2009-10, Kenney was the manager and head videographer for the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill soccer team. He was a part of the 2009 team which won the NCAA DI National Championship as well as the ACC Regular Season and Conference Tournament titles.
Prior to going to UNC, Kenney was the assistant head soccer coach at Peace College in Raleigh, N.C., from 2006-07.
Kenney attended UNC-Chapel Hill where he achieved his Bachelor's degree in communication studies with an emphasis on media studies and production in 2012. He currently resides in Austin.Â
