Nicole Dalby enters her 11th season as the head volleyball coach at Concordia University Texas.

Dalby took over the Tornados program after spending the previous seven seasons as an assistant coach at the Division I level.

Concordia Texas had three Tornados earn spots on the ASC All-Conference Team. Savannah Kari, Rayna Pack, and Camryn Parker were all recognized on the All-ASC Honorable Mention team, the league's office announced on Monday.

CTX posted an even 12-11 (8-8) record in 2022. The Tornados hit a stride with a five-match win streak in non-conference play; including going a perfect 4-0 during the Millsaps/Belhaven Invitational. 

A quartet of Tornados were recognized by the ASC for their impressive play during the 2022 volleyball season. Sarah Ghormley and Kinsy Haschke were deemed to the All-ASC First Team, while Kaitlyn Ruiz and Camryn Parker received All-ASC Honorable Mention honors. Haschke was also named the ASC's Newcomer of the Year in her lone graduate senior season, the league announced on Wednesday.

In the 2021 campaign, Concordia posted a 10-15 (10-8 ASC) record. Concordia's winning record in ASC play helped them reach the ASC tournament quarterfinal for the fifth consecutive season.

Concordia tallied a trio of players on the ASC All-Conference Team. Sarah Ghormley led the conference with 366 kills and had 12 double-doubles on the season and was named an American Southwest Conference All-Conference First Team selection. 

Kylexus Block & Alyssa Legette were recognized for their performance on the court as well, taking home ASC All-Conference Second Team accolades. Block flourished offensively alongside Ghormley, finishing second on the team with 301 kills and averaged 3.42 a set. On the defensive side of the ball, Block was everywhere for the Tornados, tallying a team-high 262 digs. Legette also was a key cog for CTX throughout the season, serving primarily as the team's setter. The Round Rock, Texas native dished out a team-high 633 assists and averaged 8.22 a set, both ranking second in the conference.

The 2020-2021 season was delayed and shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but Dalby and her squad still enjoyed a successful season. The Tornados finished with a 9-3 record, including an 8-2 record in ASC play, and reached the ASC tournament semifinals for the fourth-straight season. 

Four Tornados earned All-ASC honors, highlighted by the program's first-ever ASC West Division Setter of the Year and all-conference selection Georgia Quiroz. Additionally, Sarah Ghormley earned her first career all-conference selection while Kylexus Block was named to the ASC West second team and Marjani Myles earned her fourth-career All-ASC accolade after being named an ASC West honorable mention. 

Dalby had her most successful season to date in 2019. She led the Tornados to one of their best seasons in program history with a 23-win year, their most wins since 2000, and set the school record with 12 conference wins. The team reached the ASC Tournament semifinals for the third year in a row and the fourth time in the last five seasons.

The program had five players earn All-ASC honors, led by Tristyn Massey and Sarah Ghormley, who were both ASC First Team selections. Massey was an ASC All-Conference selection as well for the second straight year. Meanwhile, Georgia Quiroz, Sam Mendez and Marjani Myles were named to the ASC Second Team for their performances. Dalby and assistant coach Dave Taylor were honored with ASC West Coaching Staff of the Year accolades for their historic season.

In 2018, McCoy-Dalby led Concordia to its second straight 19-win season and their most conference wins since 2000 with an 11-4 record in ASC play. The Tornados reached the ASC Tournament semifinals for the third time in four years and for the fourth time in school history.

In the ASC Tournament quarterfinals, Dalby recorded her 100th career coaching win as Concordia defeated McMurry in four sets.

Tristyn Massey and Marissa Stinson were both named to the ASC All-Conference Team, marking the first time multiple CTX players were all-conference selections since 2000. A total of five players earned All-ASC honors along (Stinson, Massey, Marjani Myles, Georgia Quiroz and Rylee Davis), the most since 2013. Stinson also become the first Tornado since 2008 to earn AVCA All-West Region honors after leading the team in kills and blocks.

Dalby finished her fourth year at Concordia with a 19-15 overall record and went 10-6 in ASC play. The 19 wins were the second-most in school history and the Tornados advanced to the ASC tournament semifinals for the second time in three years, and the third time in school history. Additionally, the 10 conference wins is tied for the second-most in program history and are the most since 2007.

Marissa Stinson, Carly Custer, Kelly Farina and Marjani Myles all earned ASC honors in the 2017 season.

Stinson was named to the ASC all-conference team while also being selected to the ASC First Team all-West Division after leading the team with 274 kills and 84 blocks on the year. Additionally, Custer and Farina garnered second team all-West Division honors.

Before the 2017 season, Dalby's squads collected seasons of 11 wins, 14 wins and 14 wins, respectively. In the 2015 season, the Tornados advanced to the ASC Tournament semifinals and finished above .500 for the first time since 2000.

CTX has boasted several All-ASC honorees under McCoy-Dalby including multiple winners in Jordan Redmond and Katie Baker.

Prior to coming to CTX, the Belton native spent the two years as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Western Carolina. During her time in Cullowhee, N.C., Dalby helped the Catamounts to a combined 26-36 record and an appearance in the 2013 Southern Conference Tournament. In her final year with the squad, libero Morgan Cochran became the program’s all-time leader in digs and ranked second in the nation with 6.14 digs per set.

Prior to Western Carolina, McCoy-Dalby was an assistant coach at South Alabama. She helped the Lady Jags to an 11-17 mark.

Dalby spent the previous four years at Nicholls State, working three seasons as an assistant coach and one as a graduate assistant. While with the Colonels, she worked with the setters and defensive specialists, supervised the academic progress of the student-athletes, initiated community service projects and worked with the strength and conditioning staff in organizing the training program for the team.

During the 2010-11 academic year, Dalby was an assistant coach, while also serving in an administrative and game operations role. In 2010, Nicholls State libero Danielle Daigle finished the year ranked 11th in the nation with 5.63 digs per frame.

In her first two seasons as a full-time assistant coach with the Colonels, Dalby worked under former South Alabama assistant coach Chris Laird. During those two seasons, Nicholls State made its first back-to-back appearances in the Southland Conference Tournament and earned the program’s first conference tournament victory in 2009, advancing to the semifinal round.

Under Dalby’s tutelage, Colonels setter Amy Whitehead became the career leader in assists, becoming the first Nicholls State player to eclipse the 3,000-assists mark.

McCoy-Dalby arrived in Thibodaux, La., after spending one season as a volunteer assistant coach at Temple College, where she helped the Leopards capture both the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) and Region 5 championships, while also making an appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament.

As a player, Dalby spent two seasons at Hill College, where the Rebels earned a NTJCAC title, advanced to the Region 5 championship match and finished in the top 20 of the NJCAA poll in 2002. Following her junior college experience, she played one season at American Southwest Conference foe Texas-Dallas, where she was a setter before having her career cut short due to a knee injury.

Dalby graduated from Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science, in addition to a minor in art. Three years later, she earned a master’s degree in higher education administration at Nicholls State.
