AUSTIN, Texas -- The Concordia University Texas women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision in American Southwest Conference play to LeTourneau University Thursday afternoon at Town & Country Optimist Soccer Field.
The Tornados (4-5-3, 3-5-1 ASC) trailed 1-0 at the half after Ashley Shepard netted her first score of the year in the 33rd minute for the YellowJackets (4-8-1, 2-5-1 ASC).
LeTourneau added two insurance goals in the second half. Brooke Kincade scored her first goal of the year in the 77th minute off a set piece. Amanda De Leon served the ball into the box and Kirby Posey headed it to Kincade who chested the ball into the back of the net.
The YellowJackets picked up their final goal of the match in the 82nd minute as De Leon slipped a ball past CTX freshman goalkeeper #Teysha Sivage# off an assist from Posey. It was De Leon's fifth goal of the season.
The Tornados had a goal taken away in the 56th minute as #Hilary Wagner# was whistled for being offside as she was in the process of shooting the ball into the net.
CTX was outshot by LeTourneau 19-6, including a 9-1 margin in the first half.
Freshman midfielder #Dalaine Whitlock# attempted two shots, both of which were stopped by YellowJacket goalkeeper Nicole Tammelin.
Sivage recorded six saves for CTX in goal.
The Tornados will return to the pitch on Sat., Oct. 17 in a 1 p.m. conference tilt with East Texas Baptist University at Town & Country Field.
