AUSTIN, Texas
--- Senior Lya Morfitt collected a goal and an assist Saturday, as the Tornados rolled to a 6-0 victory over the University of the Ozarks on Senior Day at St. Stephen's Field. CTX now stands in a tie for sixth place overall in the American Southwest Conference, and can guarantee itself a conference tournament bid with two wins on its upcoming ASC roadtrip.

The Tornados capped off a very successful season at St. Stephen's Field Saturday, as Concordia improved its home record to 6-2, with its biggest victory coming September 30th against Texas Lutheran. Concordia fired 28 shots in the contest with all 21 Tornados taking part in the action.

CTX (9-6-1, 6-4-1 ASC) struck first in the 14th minute, as Chastity Carrillo took a one-timer from Lya Morfitt and found the back of the net for a 1-0 lead. Just four minutes later Taylor Franklin scored her first of two goals, to give Concordia a 2-0 advantage.

Lya Morfitt then scored her 10th point of the year, as the senior collected a goal in the 24th minute to push the lead to three. Concordia widened the lead to three when Taylor Franklin took a corner kick from Chastity Carrillo and pushed it past the UO goalkeeper.

Dalaine Whitlock nearly made it a 5-0 lead, as the leftback made a run down the field and fired a shot that bounced off the right post just before the half. Concordia would later add a Kiera Ruck goal in the 55th minute to give Concordia a 5-0 advantage.

Freshman Chastity Carrillo collected her second goal of the game in the 77th minute, to give the midfielder a team-best 22 points on the year. With the 6-0 victory Concordia pushes its all-time season wins record to nine.

The Tornado defense limited the University of the Ozarks (0-15-2, 0-10-2 ASC) to one shot on goal, with goalkeepers Tyler Steinbach, Vanesa Sierra, and Olivia Jablinski all contributing to the shutout win.

Concordia will take its most significant roadtrip of the year this week, as Corey Holton's squad travels to face Louisiana and Mississippi College. The Tornados will face Mississippi (10-3-1, 6-3-0 ASC) on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. and then take on Louisiana (0-14-1, 0-7-1 ASC) at 3:00 p.m. Saturday.

CTX can guarantee a post-season bid into the six-team ASC Conference Tournament by winning both games. With two wins Concordia can finish as high as fourth, but if the Tornados spilt they need Mary Hardin-Baylor and East Texas Baptist to lose to garner a sixth-place finish in the conference.
