ALPINE, Texas -- The Concordia University Texas softball team completed a four-game sweep of Sul Ross State on Sunday at a chilly Lady Lobo Field. In the process, junior shortstop #Jessica Rattan# became the Tornados' all-time home run leader, belting her 21st career round tripper in the first game of the day. Concordia (10-8, 7-1 ASC) defeated Sul Ross State (0-22, 0-8 ASC) by scores of 18-4 and 15-4.

Karen Smart with a two-out fourth-inning blast against the Lady Lobos, which put Concordia Texas up 18-1. Sul Ross State scratched out three runs in the bottom of the fourth to make the score 18-4.
Concordia led 3-1 after the first inning of play and then proceeded to plate 14 runs in the second inning to take a commanding 17-1 lead.
Rattan, #Vicky Recek# and #Lauren Vansickle# all recorded two hits in the first game to pace the Tornados' offensive outburst.
#Meghan Ferrell# (1-0) received the win for Concordia after coming on in relief of #Haylee Staton#. Ferrell pitched the final three innings of the five-inning run-rule shortened contest and allowed two hits and three runs to pick up the win.
In the nightcap, Concordia pounded out 14 hits and saw six players record two hits in a 15-4 romp to close out the series. Staton and #Candace Velasquez# each belted home runs in the nightcap. Velasquez and Vansickle both finished with four RBI in the final game.
#Lyssa Yates# (3-4) came on in relief to pick up the win. Yates hurled 3.1 scoreless innings and recorded one strikeout.
Concordia will host Texas Lutheran next weekend in a four-game series at Old Settlers Park.
